The importance of Akshinthalu has been mentioned across all the Puraanas in Hindu religion. A symbolic representation of prosperity and fertility, there are considered to be the finest offerings a devotee could offer to the deity.
Even the materialistic offerings like food, clothing jewelry are not on par with these turmeric coated rice grains in a pooja procedure, such is their significance. To better understand the significance of the Akshinthalu, it is important to know about their place in the sacred offering palette.
